Here we go

Yesterday afternoon is the midterm for Classical Mechanics. Although this is my second year TAing a graduate course, organizing a formal exam totally by myself is still a first time in my life.

How things can go wrong you may wonder. Well, nothing, at least I thought. They are all adults, physics major, almost same year as me, or maybe 10 years younger? (feel sorry for me). Some have already taken one year course TAing by me (sorry for them). So I just grab anything we usually bring into exam room, like test sheets, paper, stapler, no clock this time, fun books for proctor, well, extra test sheets definitely.

Once I stepped into the room, something is not quite right, over 10 good students are waiting there while joking around. 1 more minute to go, I knew I was on time, with everything in hands, with a nice shirt. How came I had this feeling? Then looked at the board, I knew what is going on. Someone wrote in capital letters:”CLASS CANCELED, NO EXAM”

Like teacher facing high school kids, right? No time to waste. Grabbing a chalk, I added a ‘W’ before ‘EXAM’.
